Homework Policy and Schedules
Spelling or Vocabulary words are sent home at the beginning of each new story in Storytown. Spelling tic-tac-toe homework is due that Friday, with a test that Friday. Vocabulary word homework is due the following Friday with a test that week. The reading comprehension test will be given the Friday of the second week. So each story will be studied for 2 weeks. The first week's concentration is spelling and the introduction to the story, with EBLI. The second week's focus is vocabulary and reading comprehension skills.
Math homework is given out Monday - Thursday nights and is to be turned in the very next day.
Projects are sent home to be completed at home and turned in on the due date. A week or two is always given to work on the projects.
Reading Logs are passed out on Fridays and are due on the following Friday. Each child is responsible for reading 20 minutes each day. Each student is responsible for filling in a log entry on the reading log each school night. 10 points are assigned each week for completed logs. Independent books can be accessed through Tumblebooks or Storytown. Students at PACE Academy also have access to a library card at the Southfield Library.
